Our Fractal World
Dear friends, English is not my language and really I do not speak it fluently,
only a limited reading, so if you find some errors in my keystrokes, I will be glad
to correct it with your help.
Some years ago, I was a computer teacher for students in a college in our city, and accidentally
a video arrive at my desk; really it arrived because nobody wanted to deal with it. The title was
The chaos and his laws. The video was horrible, hand made, but called me with a big, powerful voice,
like Pavarotti ... and at this time I take a trip down a little road studying this strange world
called chaos. I remember using my first computer for observing in the mathematical calculations
of the pattern repetitions. The computers was not able to display graphics, so for visualize
something, I made a special driver to connect to the printer at the office: an old Printronix
capable of printing dots and not only letters.
Well, the computers make a huge the difference: now we can see the mandelbroot lake, and its
rich details on our screen at a high speed calculations: my computer was a TRS-80 Radio Shack,
model III with an inmense diskette with a capacity of 600Kbits on each side ( I remember to punch
a hole in the jacket to duplicate the size!!)
Now, just some keystroke, take here, cut and paste, save on my 80Gb HD, while listening to a
Pavarotti on a cd-rom device, and see the display of a video card that take the memory required
from the 512Mb Ram memory and with not some colors: many millions of colors. Not just black
and white!
